1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer," "Client," or "User") and Thangam Packers and Movers ("we," "our," or "us"), located at 14A/1, Balaji Nagar, Kalapatti (Post), Coimbatore – 641048, Tamil Nadu, India.

By browsing our website, requesting a moving quotation, or booking our packing, moving, or storage services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.

2. Scope of Services

Thangam Packers and Movers provides professional relocation and logistical assistance including:

• Household Shifting: Packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and arranging household furniture, kitchenware, appliances, and personal belongings.
• Office Relocation: Planned relocation of commercial workstations, IT equipment, files, and modular furniture with minimal operational downtime.
• Packing & Unpacking: Specialized multi-layer packing using corrugated boxes, bubble wrap, stretch film, edge guards, and wooden crates for fragile glassware.
• Car & Bike Transport: Specialized automobile carrier transport for two-wheelers and four-wheelers across Tamil Nadu and all major Indian cities.
• Short & Long-term Warehousing: Clean, secure, and moisture-controlled warehouse storage on flexible monthly rental terms.

3. Quotations & Transparent Pricing

• Preliminary Estimates: Estimates provided via our online quote form, phone, or WhatsApp are preliminary calculations based on customer-provided volume estimates.
• Final Confirmed Quotation: The final binding price is determined and mutually agreed upon following an on-site survey or detailed itemized inventory check.
• Price Inclusions: Unless otherwise specified in writing, our quotations include labor for packing/loading, appropriate packing materials, vehicle freight, and delivery to the specified destination floor (with functional lift access).
• Potential Additional Charges: Additional fees will only apply if:
  • The customer adds extra items or rooms not included in the original survey.
  • There is absence of lift access requiring manual carry above the 1st floor (unless pre-quoted).
  • Long distance vehicle-to-door walking carry exceeds 50 meters due to parking restrictions.
  • Customer requests specialized carpenter or electrician dismantling/installation not previously agreed.

4. Booking & Payment Terms

• Booking Confirmation: A nominal advance deposit may be requested to lock in the shifting date and reserve truck allocation, especially during month-end peak periods.
• Balance Payment: The balance amount is due upon safe arrival of the vehicle at the delivery destination, prior to final unloading and handover of goods.
• Accepted Payment Modes: We accept UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), Direct Bank Transfer (NEFT/IMPS), and Cash. Receipts are provided for all transactions.

5. Customer Responsibilities & Valuables Exclusion

To ensure a safe and smooth moving process, customers agree to the following responsibilities:

• High-Value Items Exclusion: Customers MUST personally transport cash, gold jewelry, legal certificates, property documents, high-value watches, laptops, and delicate heirlooms. Our crews are instructed not to pack or handle personal cash or jewelry, and we accept no liability for these items.
• Origin & Destination Permissions: Customers are responsible for securing necessary society gate passes, union clearances, and lift permissions from apartment or office associations at both locations.
• Inventory Sign-Off: Customers or their authorized representative must be present during packing, loading, and delivery to verify items against the inventory sheet and sign the delivery acknowledgement.

6. Prohibited & Hazardous Goods

For safety and legal compliance, we strictly refuse the carriage of the following items:

• Explosive materials, fireworks, matches, and ammunition.
• Flammable liquids, paints, solvents, kerosene, diesel, and gasoline.
• Compressed gas cylinders (LPG cylinders must be 100% empty, disconnected, and certified).
• Motorbikes must have fuel tanks drained completely before vehicle carrier loading.
• Perishable food items, illegal substances, drugs, and contraband prohibited under Indian law.

7. Transit Insurance & Liability Guidelines

• Transit Insurance: For long-distance and inter-state shifting, comprehensive Transit Insurance through recognized third-party insurance providers is strongly recommended and arranged upon customer request.
• Claims Procedure: In the unlikely event of transit damage, the customer must note the discrepancy on the delivery checklist before the crew leaves and notify our office in writing with photographic evidence within 24 hours of delivery.
• Owner-Packed Items: We cannot accept liability for damage to items packed personally by the client into self-provided cartons without our crew’s professional inspection.

8. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

• Rescheduling: Shifting dates can be rescheduled free of charge if requested at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled packing time, subject to truck and crew availability.
• Cancellations: If you cancel a confirmed booking with more than 24 hours notice, any advance booking fee is refunded or credited towards a future shifting date.

9. Force Majeure & Transit Delays

While we pride ourselves on on-time delivery, Thangam Packers and Movers shall not be held liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather, severe floods, national strikes, interstate border restrictions, or unexpected highway vehicular blockades.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising out of or related to our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
